Payments, Fees & Escrow Terms

1. Fee Structure
1.1 Platform Fees
REWORK. may charge platform fees for facilitating transactions, providing premium features, or processing marketplace interactions. Fee rates are published on the Platform and may be updated at any time. Continued use of fee-based services after a rate change constitutes acceptance of the new rates.
1.2 Career Specialist Fees
Career specialists and agents set their own fees independently. REWORK. does not determine, regulate, or guarantee the reasonableness of fees charged by career specialists. All fee arrangements are between you and the career specialist.
1.3 Subscription Services
Certain features may require paid subscriptions (including but not limited to SwiitchAssess, premium compliance tools, and advanced AI features). Subscriptions are billed on the terms specified at purchase and automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date. You are responsible for cancelling subscriptions you no longer wish to maintain.
2. Payment Processing
2.1 Third-Party Processors
All payments are processed through third-party payment processors (including but not limited to Stripe, PayPal, and other providers). REWORK. is not a payment processor and is not responsible for payment processing errors, delays, security breaches, chargebacks, or failures.
2.2 Payment Information
Payment information (credit card numbers, bank details) is collected and stored by our payment processors, not by REWORK. directly. By making payments, you agree to the payment processor's terms of service and privacy policy.
2.3 Currency & Taxes
Fees are displayed and charged in the currency specified at the point of transaction. You are solely responsible for any applicable taxes, duties, levies, or currency conversion fees associated with your transactions. REWORK. does not provide tax advice.
3. Escrow System
3.1 Escrow Service
For certain project-based transactions, REWORK. may offer an escrow service where funds are held pending milestone completion. The escrow service is provided as a convenience and does not create a fiduciary relationship.
3.2 Fund Release
Escrowed funds are released upon milestone approval by the paying party or through the dispute resolution process. REWORK. reserves the right to hold, freeze, or return escrowed funds in cases of suspected fraud, policy violations, or legal requirements.
3.3 Escrow Limitations
REWORK. is not liable for losses arising from escrow disputes, delayed releases, or fund holds. The escrow service is provided "as is" and we make no guarantees regarding timing, availability, or the resolution of escrow disputes.
4. Refund Policy
4.1 Platform Fees — Non-Refundable
Platform fees charged by REWORK. are strictly non-refundable under all circumstances, including but not limited to service dissatisfaction, non-approval on third-party platforms, account termination, or change of mind.
4.2 Career Specialist Refunds
Refund policies for services provided by career specialists are determined solely by the individual career specialist. REWORK. does not guarantee, facilitate, or process refunds for career specialist services. Payment for services does NOT guarantee results, employment, or platform approval.
4.3 Subscription Cancellation
Subscription cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are provided for partial billing periods. You retain access to subscription features until the end of the paid period.
4.4 Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without first attempting resolution through our support channels may result in immediate account suspension, reversal of services, and potential collection actions. We reserve the right to contest all chargebacks.
5. Fund Holds & Reserves
5.1 Right to Hold Funds
REWORK. reserves the absolute right to hold, delay, or suspend the disbursement of any funds in your account or otherwise payable to you for any period we deem necessary, at our sole discretion, including but not limited to the following circumstances:
- Suspected or confirmed fraudulent activity, misrepresentation, or policy violations
- Pending investigations, disputes, chargebacks, or claims involving your account or transactions
- Compliance with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, or government directives
- Risk assessment, anti-money laundering (AML) checks, or know-your-customer (KYC) verification
- Pending or anticipated refund obligations, adjustments, or reversals
- Insufficient verification of identity, business credentials, or service delivery
- Any other circumstance where disbursement could expose REWORK. to financial, legal, or reputational risk
5.2 Rolling Reserves
REWORK. may implement rolling reserves on seller and service provider accounts, withholding a percentage of transaction proceeds for a defined period to cover potential refunds, chargebacks, disputes, or liabilities. The reserve percentage and holding period are determined at our sole discretion and may be adjusted at any time based on account risk profile, transaction history, and dispute rates.
5.3 No Interest or Liability on Held Funds
Funds held by REWORK. do not accrue interest and REWORK. shall have no liability for any losses, damages, or opportunity costs arising from fund holds, delayed disbursements, or reserve requirements. By using the Platform, you acknowledge and consent to the fund holding practices described herein.
6. Refund Deductions & Adjustments
6.1 Right to Deduct Refunds
REWORK. reserves the right to deduct, offset, or recover refund amounts directly from any funds held in your account, pending disbursements, or future earnings without prior notice, in the following circumstances:
- A buyer or client is entitled to a refund due to non-delivery, material misrepresentation, or failure to meet agreed service terms
- A chargeback or payment reversal is initiated by a buyer, payment processor, or financial institution
- Services or deliverables are determined by REWORK. to be materially deficient, fraudulent, or in violation of Platform policies
- A dispute is resolved in favour of the buyer through our dispute resolution process or by a payment processor
- Overpayments, duplicate payments, or erroneous disbursements have been made
6.2 Automatic Deductions
You authorize REWORK. to automatically deduct refund amounts, chargeback fees, processing costs, and any associated penalties from your account balance, pending payouts, or future earnings. If your account balance is insufficient to cover the full deduction, you remain liable for the outstanding amount and agree to remit payment upon demand.
6.3 Refund Processing
REWORK. may process refunds to buyers at its discretion when it determines that a refund is warranted, even without the seller's or service provider's prior consent. Such refunds may be issued to protect buyer trust, maintain platform integrity, or comply with applicable consumer protection laws. REWORK. shall not be liable to sellers for any refunds issued in good faith.
7. Account Suspension & Financial Freezes
7.1 Right to Freeze Accounts
REWORK. reserves the absolute right to freeze, suspend, restrict, or terminate any account and all associated financial activities immediately and without prior notice, at our sole discretion, for any reason including but not limited to:
- Suspected or confirmed fraud, money laundering, terrorist financing, or other illegal activity
- Violations of these Terms, Acceptable Use Policy, or any other Platform policies
- Abnormal transaction patterns, velocity anomalies, or risk indicators flagged by our fraud detection systems
- Unresolved disputes, excessive chargebacks, or a pattern of buyer complaints
- Failure to provide requested identity verification, tax documentation, or business credentials
- Receipt of legal process, regulatory inquiry, or law enforcement request relating to your account
- Conduct that poses a risk to other users, the Platform, or REWORK.'s business interests
7.2 Effects of Account Freeze
During an account freeze, you may not withdraw funds, initiate transactions, accept new orders, or access financial features of the Platform. Pending disbursements will be suspended. REWORK. may hold frozen funds for such period as is necessary to complete any investigation or resolve any dispute, which may extend beyond the termination of your account.
7.3 No Liability for Account Freezes
REWORK. shall have no liability for any losses, damages, or costs arising from account freezes, suspensions, or restrictions, including but not limited to lost revenue, delayed payments, reputational harm, or inability to fulfil obligations to third parties. You waive any claims against REWORK. related to account freezing actions taken in good faith.
8. Seller & Service Provider Fraud Responsibility
8.1 Seller Responsibility for Fraud
Sellers, career specialists, agents, and all service providers on the Platform bear full and sole responsibility for any fraudulent, deceptive, misleading, or dishonest conduct in connection with their use of the Platform, including but not limited to:
- Misrepresenting qualifications, credentials, experience, identity, or business status
- Providing fraudulent, counterfeit, plagiarised, or materially deficient services or deliverables
- Accepting payment without intent or ability to deliver the agreed services
- Manipulating reviews, ratings, verification status, or other trust indicators
- Engaging in price manipulation, fee evasion, or circumventing Platform payment systems
- Using the Platform to facilitate identity theft, phishing, scams, or other criminal activity
- Colluding with buyers or other sellers to defraud the Platform or its users
8.2 Platform Not Liable for Seller Fraud
REWORK. is not responsible or liable for any losses, damages, or harm resulting from fraudulent or deceptive conduct by sellers, career specialists, agents, or other service providers. REWORK. does not guarantee the identity, qualifications, intentions, or honesty of any user. Buyers and clients are responsible for exercising their own due diligence before engaging with any seller or service provider.
8.3 Fraud Remedies
In cases of suspected or confirmed fraud, REWORK. reserves the right to take any or all of the following actions without prior notice:
- Immediately freeze or terminate the offending account and all associated accounts
- Withhold, reverse, or reclaim any funds, fees, or earnings associated with fraudulent activity
- Issue refunds to affected buyers at the seller's expense
- Report the conduct to law enforcement, regulatory authorities, and relevant financial institutions
- Pursue civil remedies, including recovery of losses, investigation costs, and legal fees
- Permanently ban the individual from the Platform and all affiliated services
8.4 Seller Indemnification
Sellers, career specialists, agents, and service providers agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless REWORK., its officers, directors, employees, and affiliates from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to their fraudulent, deceptive, negligent, or unlawful conduct on the Platform, including but not limited to buyer claims, regulatory actions, chargeback losses, and reputational harm to the Platform.
9. Invoicing & Records
Transaction records and invoices are available through your account dashboard. It is your responsibility to maintain records for tax and accounting purposes. REWORK. provides invoicing tools as a convenience but does not guarantee their compliance with your local tax requirements.
We retain transaction records in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements. Records may be provided to tax authorities as required by law.
